Mumbai: Veteran Bengali and Hindi film actress and Kajol’s mother, Tanuja Mukherjee, celebrated her 84th birthday on Wednesday. On the occasion, her daughters Kajol and Tanisha Mukherjee extended heartfelt birthday wishes to her.Actress Kajol shared a few pictures on Instagram in which she can be seen hugging her mother. Along with the pictures, she wrote, “Happy birthday to the strongest woman I know. She is a great teacher and has the sweetest smile. My love for you will always remain. Even at 84, you can still beat me up.”Tanisha Mukherjee also shared some memorable pictures with her mother on Instagram, capturing moments they have spent together. Wishing her mother, Tanisha wrote, “Happy birthday, my Mummy! Thank you for always supporting me and standing by my side at every step. You are nothing less than a blessing in my life.”Tanuja Mukherjee is among the celebrated actresses of Indian cinema who made a special place in the hearts of audiences through her outspoken personality and impressive acting in both Hindi and Bengali films.Born into a prominent film family, Tanuja’s father, Kumarsen Samarth, was a film director, while her mother, Shobhna Samarth, was a well-known actress. Her elder sister Nutan was also a renowned actress.Tanuja began her acting journey as a child artist with the 1950 film ‘Hamari Beti’. She made her debut as a leading actress with the 1960 film ‘Chhabili’.Known for her modern, independent and lively personality, Tanuja was also famous for her playful and humorous nature on film sets.
