In Rajasthan, where the state government has so far not notified the new provisions of the MV Act, the traffic police seem to have become stricter in its implementation of the old provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act. A rare case of a cab taxi driver being challaned for not buttoning his shirt and driving wearing slippers has come to the fore in Jaipur.
The incident happened on September 6, when a driver with taxi number RJ14TE0556 was fined at Sanjay Circle by a traffic police personnel. The traffic police personnel, Madho Singh in the challan, mentioned that the driver had his shirt unbuttoned and was driving wearing slippers as the reason for fine him. The Court will decide on the amount of the fine. The Rajasthan government has so far not implemented the new provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act in Rajasthan.
