MS Dhoni first captain to record 100 wins in IPL history

MS  Dhoni on Thursday created yet another record as he became the first captain in Indian Premier League history to register 100 wins in the tournament. As captain, MS Dhoni has won 29 matches more than Gautam Gambhir, who is second on the list with 71 wins (129 matches). MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings to a 4-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur on Thursday to create history. The Super Kings chased down the target of 152 with Dhoni top-scoring with 58 runs while Ambati Rayudu made 57 as the defending champions consolidated their position at the top of the table with 12 points from 7 games.

MS Dhoni is the most experienced captain in the Indian Premier League. He has led Chennai Super Kings in 152 matches. In 2016, Dhoni led Rising Pune Supergiant in 14 matches. Overall, MS Dhoni has been captain in 166 IPL matches. Dhoni has led Chennai Super Kings in 152 matches and won 95 matches as captain. He won only five matches as captain of Rising Pune Supergiant in 2016.

In the 12 editions of the IPL, the only season MS Dhoni did not lead a team was in 2017 when RPS named Steve Smith their skipper.
