Mahindra & Mahindra's subsidiary Classic Legends today launched the BS6-compliant Jawa and Jawa Forty Two in India. While the Jawa BS6 price starts at Rs 1.73 lakh, the Jawa Forty Two BS6 price begins at Rs 1.60 lakh. Jawa and Jawa Forty Two were initially introduced by Classic Legends in India in November 2018 with a BS6-ready, 293cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC engine that delivers 27bhp and 28Nm of torque.
The updated BS6-compliant, 293 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC engine in Jawa and Jawa Forty Two now features cross port technology, which Classic Legends claims is the first for a motorcycle in India. The updated engine has retained pre-BS6 power and torque numbers.
