With 24,248 new cases of coronavirus recorded in the last 24 hours, India’s overall tally reached 6,97,413. The death toll climbed to 19,693 after India recorded 425 fatalities. With a steady rise, the number of recoveries stands at 4,24,432 in the country, while one patient has migrated. There are 2,53,287 active coronavirus cases in the country.

With 2,06,619 confirmed novel coronavirus cases, Maharashtra remains the worst-affected state in the country. According to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry, the state has reported 8,822 COVID-19 deaths so far. As many as 1,11,740 patients have recovered.
