India on Tuesday reported 38,074 new coronavirus cases, taking the total number of cases to 85,91,731. The death toll has reached 1,27,059 with 448 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours, as per the Union Health Ministry. The total number of active cases now stands at 5,05,265 after a decrease of 4,408 in the last 24 hours. Total recovered cases are at 79,59,406 with 42,033 new discharges in the last 24 hours.
Delhi had earlier overtaken Maharashtra and Kerala on November 7 also. The city had reported the highest daily new cases, also its highest tally so far with 7,745 new cases. The national capital is followed by Maharashtra with 5,585 cases and Kerala with 5,585 cases, the ministry said on Monday.
