Following BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, yoga guru Baba Ramdev has now targeted former Kaiserganj MP and BJP leader Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Ramdev described Brij Bhushan as a person with a “petty and vulgar mindset.” His remarks came after the BJP leader questioned the credibility of the yoga guru and raised doubts about Patanjali products.
Speaking to the media in Karnal, Haryana, Baba Ramdev criticised Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh’s comments. He also advocated One Nation, One Election, educational reforms, and democratic and constitutional methods of protest.
When asked about Brij Bhushan’s criticism of him, Ramdev said he had nothing to say about a person with a petty and low-minded approach. He said, “What has Swami Ramdev done? What has been his contribution? What has Swami Ramdev done for yoga, Ayurveda and swadeshi? As far as Patanjali products are concerned, there is not a single question mark over them in world-class laboratories. I have nothing to say about people with such a petty mindset.”
Brij Bhushan had earlier claimed that nobody believes Baba Ramdev and that people do not take his statements seriously. He had also challenged Ramdev to come out and launch a protest if he wanted to, saying that his ability to mobilise people would then be tested. He further alleged that Swami Ramdev conducts business worth billions and trillions of rupees under the Patanjali brand and also questioned the quality of its products.
Baba Ramdev also called for major changes in the country’s education system. He said educational reforms should focus on three key areas, including “One Nation, One Education” and “One Nation, One Election.” According to him, a large amount of teachers’ time is spent on election-related duties. He also stressed the need to incorporate Indian culture into the education system.
He said that although the British had left India, the dominance of the English language remained, particularly in education and healthcare. He argued that this influence should be reduced and that the Indian Knowledge System should be incorporated into education.
Commenting on the UGC and reservation-related protests, Ramdev said some people were trying to seize political power by creating disturbances from the streets to Parliament. He said India would be governed through democracy and that anyone aspiring to become Prime Minister should win the people’s mandate through elections.
On the Vande Mataram controversy, he said some people lacked an understanding of Sanskrit and Indian culture. He asserted that Bharat Mata was supreme and suggested that those unfamiliar with Sanskrit and Indian culture should learn more about the country.
Earlier, Baba Ramdev had also criticised Kangana Ranaut over her controversial “Generation Gutter” remark about Gen-Z. Reacting to Kangana’s statement, Ramdev had questioned her qualifications and said that referring to the youth of any country as “gutter” reflected a disturbed mindset.
