On the first day of the New Year 2026, a massive crowd of devotees gathered at major temples across Jaipur. At the revered Govind Dev Ji Temple, the New Year began with the Mangala Aarti at 4 a.m. Long queues of devotees had formed since late night for the first दर्शन of the year.
Devotees from Jaipur, other districts of Rajasthan, and even from across the country and abroad visited the temple. The entire temple complex resonated with chants of “Jai Shri Radhe.” Special arrangements were made by the temple administration to manage the crowd, with separate entry and exit routes. Police personnel and volunteers assisted in maintaining order.
Special Decoration
On the occasion of New Year, Lord Govind Dev Ji was adorned with a special golden attire. Devotees witnessed various ceremonial glimpses (jhankis) throughout the day and prayed for peace, prosperity, and happiness.
Special Celebrations at Moti Dungri Ganesh Temple
A large number of devotees also gathered at the Moti Dungri Ganesh Temple. Long queues were seen from early morning. Lord Ganesh was adorned with a golden crown on this auspicious occasion.
Temple priest Kailash Sharma said that instead of the traditional 56 offerings, 56 varieties of laddoos were offered this year. These included laddoos made of gram flour, motichoor, coconut, semolina, wheat flour, dry fruits, cream, pistachio, custard apple, vanilla, strawberry, churma, moong, and gulkand.
To manage the crowd, special arrangements were made with seven entry lines and eight exit lines. Security arrangements were also strengthened.
Traffic Diversion Implemented
Due to the large gathering at Govind Dev Ji and Moti Dungri Ganesh temples, traffic diversions were implemented in nearby areas. Traffic police remained deployed on the roads and diverted vehicles through alternate routes to ensure smooth movement for devotees.
