Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will not attend Tuesday's inauguration program of Chambal River Front, built by UIT Kota , with in the revenue Khsara Number notified for river only , a huge investment of Rs 1400 crore, seems to gone waste . Not to attend the today inauguration function , CM himself shared this information through social media late at night. But, his other programs on Wednesday for inauguration of City park and other , will remain the same.
In the statement issued on social media, Chief Minister Gehlot has not given a clear reason for postponing Tuesday's visit. But, reliable sources say that CM Gehlot has postponed the inauguration program due to lack of environment clearance in Kota River Front, Gharial Sanctuary, High Court's decision of Abdul Rehman vs State Government and violation of forest laws.
Let us tell you that Khaskhabar.com had expressed the same apprehension in the press conference of Urban Development Minister Shanti Dhariwal and Architect Anoop Barataria on Saturday 9.9.2023 . Earlier it was also reported in the news that forest and environment rules have been flouted in Kota River Front as well seven wonder and city park . After this, on Monday itself, former BJP MLA from Kota Prahlad Gunjal had also made similar allegations in a press conference.
Local former MLA Prahlad Gunjal alleges that this is the open corruption of Urban Development, Housing and Autonomous Government Minister Shanti Dhariwal and state fame Architect Anoop Bartariya. They have put the 50-year future of Kota at stake. This river is a Gair Mumkin Nadi in the revenue records, which finally connect with Gharial Sanctuary.
It is noteworthy that in the city park which CM Ashok Gehlot is going to inaugurate, in September 2020 A large number environmentalists including J D Patel of Gaytri Pariwar jaytraj Yada of Go sewa sangh Ex councillor SN Srivastav , Brijesh Vijay raised protest against trees and Peacock, but all went waste and the than district collector has not took any interest in the matter resulted in to cutting of , lot of 200 years old trees. There were hundreds of peacocks here. State town planning department has released the conditional approval for the city park vide which it was the responsibility of Urban Improvement Trust to ensure conservation of peacock following the wild life guidelines and Forest Act. The Urban improvement Trust did not take any safe guard and cut the tree without taking permission from green tribunal /forest department competent authority . Now hundreds of peacocks are either dead or missing , there is no inventory with UIT Kota .

According to sources, there was a stir in the government and CMO after the press conference of former BJP MLA Prahlad Gunjal in the Kota River Front case. When the entire matter was investigated, it was found that environmental clearance was not taken. All the officers including Forest and Environment Department, Urban Development Department were summoned to the Chief Minister's residence. Environmental experts' opinion was also taken. After everyone's opinion, it was decided that CM Gehlot should not be a part of this controversial project. If there is any violation found by national Green Tribunal or supreme court then Dhariwal and Anup Bartiya will have to face the consequences , along with UIT Kota , district collector Kota , and state officers who knowingly or unknowingly were part of it . After confirming and assuring all these flaws , at 2.30 in the night, a statement was issued by the CM on social media that even the snake should die and the stick should not break. That is, to ensure that Dhariwal did not get angry, he praised the entire project and congratulated him and also postponed his own visit and presence , citing unavoidable reasons.
NGT Ajmer has ordered to demolish the 7 Wonders of Ana Sagar Lake:
It is noteworthy that due to similar violations in 7 Wonders built on Ana Sagar Lake of Ajmer, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) has ordered the demolition of 7 Wonders. Because the river has been created in the buffer zone i.e. open space. Kota River Front is also built in Chambal Gharial Sanctuary and open space of the river.
The Forest and Environment Ministry had asked the officers to take action:
Apart from reducing the flow area of the river, necessary environmental clearance has also not been taken for this. In this critical matter , the Ministry of Forest, Environment and Climate Change of the Central Government a letter written to the State Government on July 1, 2023, stating that , Chambal Gharial Sanctuary and Forest Environment and Wildlife Area is still in the process of being notified, hence no work can be done without permission from SC-NBWL. This action will also be considered a clear violation of the orders of the Supreme Court. Therefore, considering it a violation of the rules, the work was immediately stopped and action was taken against the concerned officials.
Preparation to take river front to NGT:
Here, Violation of Environmental clearance which purely was required being the River front, Seven wonder as this land was belonging to Rampura Khasra No 1, 106,108,109, 245 and khasra number 284,412 of Kunhadi , Khasra Number 1 of Ladpura , Khasra no and Khasra number 15,78 of Gumanpura , Khasra number ,413,437,438 of saktpura are purely part of river / Talab affected with Abdul Rahman , in addition to area covered under development of project all along 3 KM first phase and more than 3 km in second phase on both side , irrespective of Built up area is huge violation of various central and state forest act .
Some environment lovers have prepared to take the Kota River Front , Seven wonder and city park as well to the National Green Tribunal (NGT) on the lines of Ajmer's Ana Sagar Lake. These people say that about 1 lakh square feet of construction has been done here on land which in revenue record is purely part of river. Even the much-needed environmental clearance has not been taken for this. Due to this, the existence of aquatic creatures like crocodiles is being threatened and the flow area of the river and talab has also been reduced. Therefore, all such unauthorised and unapproved constructions in the name of kota became now an internationally fame city and facilities to Kota coaching institute to grow more , should be broken.
