This trend is visible across states. The Congress has struggled to retain ground in Assam and West Bengal, while Left parties have seen a contraction outside limited pockets. Even in relatively stable political ecosystems like Kerala, established formations are under constant pressure to recalibrate. In Tamil Nadu, dominant players such as the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam continue to operate in a space where voter expectations are no longer static, despite strong historical bases.
At the same time, the rise of new political forces across multiple states in recent years indicates a growing willingness among voters to experiment when existing options appear repetitive or disconnected.
