COVID-19 positive cases in India exceeded 3,100 and the death toll touched 94

Of the 109 foreign nationals who came to West Bengal from the Tablighi Jamaat congregation in Delhi's Nizamuddin, only 40 have been tracked down by the government and quarantined at a centre in Rajarhat, Bengal BJP President Dilip Ghosh said, addressing a press meet at his residence.

With Ahmedabad being identified as one of the hotspots for the spread of the coronavirus, 70 coaches of trains are being converted into isolation wards for suspected COVID-19 patients in Ahmedabad Railway Division, an official said. The first such coach with all the necessary medical equipment has been readied and parked at Maninagar railway depot.

Globally, the virus continues to wreak havoc as the figure of infected people has risen to 1,118,059. The highest number of cases was reported from the US at 277,161 (7,392 deaths) as the global death toll surpassed 59,206. Italy has 119,827 confirmed cases an 14,681 Covid-related deaths. Death toll in Spain has also crossed the 10,000-mark and the country has 119,199 positive cases.
