Some roots never fade — they just wait for their people to find the road home again.

Following my earlier reflections on Rising Rajasthan 2024 and the spirit of the Pravasi Rajasthani, this post brings the three-part series to a close, and with it, a renewed sense of connection to Rajasthan’s global family.
Marking December 10 as Pravasi Rajasthani Divas carries deep symbolism - and I’m confident it will gain lasting strength from those who have carried Rajasthan in their hearts, wherever life took them.
Under the thoughtful leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, this vision is already taking shape. He has quite literally hit the road, travelling across states and cities to reconnect with Rajasthanis who have made their mark, while also preparing to host roadshows in Dubai and the UAE to engage the overseas diaspora.
The idea is both inclusive and forward-looking — to treat domestic and overseas Non-Resident Rajasthanis (NRRs) with equal weight, breaking the old notion that entrepreneurial success resides only beyond India’s shores.
This equal embrace of both diasporas- domestic and global- was long overdue. Rajasthan’s sons and daughters across India have been silent contributors to the state’s social and economic fabric.
For Rajasthan, its NRRs are not just remitters of capital — they are reservoirs of experience, innovation, and goodwill.
Many now seek a deeper homecoming- not just to invest, but to give back. If their parents or grandparents once left the desert in search of opportunity, today they return to create it.
If that sentiment gains ground, December 10 may one day be remembered as more than a symbolic date — the day Rajasthan’s global family truly came full circle.
Because some journeys don’t end where they began — they return home, richer with purpose.
