A record single-day spike of 96,424 coronavirus cases on Friday has pushed India's Covid-19 tally to 52,14,678. The death toll has climbed to 84,372, with the virus claiming 1,174 lives in a span of 24 hours, the health ministry data showed. As India continues to detect over 90,000 coronavirus positive patients per day, the government has claimed that the increase in the Covid-19 cases is due to the ramped-up testing to detect infections across the country. The total case tally stands at 52,14,678 including 10,17,754 active cases, 41,12,552 cured/discharged/migrated and 84,372 deaths, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare said on Friday.
The total number of coronavirus cases in Rajasthan rises to 1,10,283 with 810 new cases reported today till 10.30 am. The number of active cases is 18,282 and the death toll is at 1,301, Rajasthan health department said on Friday.
Telangana has reported 2,043 new coronavirus cases and 11 more deaths in a span of 24 hours. Total cases are1,67,046 and active cases are 30,673, deaths toll 1016.
Assam has reported 17 more deaths due to coronavirus and 1,380 fresh cases in past 24 hours. With this, Assam now has over 1.5 lakh coronavirus cases in total.
