131 test positive for COVID-19 in 12-hour, cases rise to 1965 in India, state-wise tally

The Covid-19 death toll in India climbed to 50 on Thursday, the health ministry stated. The total number of coronavirus cases in the country now stands at 1,965 including 1,764 active cases, 150 recoveries and 50 deaths. As many as 131 new coronavirus cases have been reported across the country in the last 12 hours, the health ministry announced today. Maharashtra, Kerala and Tamil Nadu have emerged as the states with the highest number of Covid-19 cases in the country followed by Delhi, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh.

The highest number of COVID-19 positive cases were reported from Maharashtra at 335, including 13 deaths, followed by Kerala (265 and 2 deaths), Tamil Nadu (234 and 1 death). There are 152 coronavirus positive cases in the national capital, including 6 cured and discharged and 2 deaths. The states which have crossed 100-mark for COVID-19 positive cases also include, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka with 108, 113 and 110 cases, respectively. Madhya Pradesh  has reported 99 positive cases of coronavirus. Six people have died from Covid-19 here.

Andhra Pradesh has witnessed a sudden spike in its Covid-19 cases. 86 positive Covid-19 patients have been reported in the state and one case of recovery. One person has died.
